The recently overhauled Google News and Weather app features coverage from over 65,000 publications a Google Now-style card-based design, with the ability to swipe between categories and drill down to view the same story from different sources.
Expand stories for in-depth articles, opinion, related pieces and local perspective. Editions vary between countries (60 views in total), and the sections and editions you're subscribed to can be controlled through the Settings menu - all linked to your Google account, naturally.
There's an optional weather widget at the top of the main view, which can be configured to show weather based on your current location, or one you set manually (though apparently not always 100% accurate). There are also a couple of resizable home screen widgets to choose from, amounting to a 4-in-1 combined weather and news view.
It could definitely go further in providing more tailored news so that you can aggregate your RSS feeds. But it's a well-designed, easy to handle app.Developer's original description available here
